Objectives

To create an European network of schools involved in the work of STEAM training. To internationalize our work and exchange good teaching educational practices, analyzing the results and suggesting new challenges. We hope that our students get to know and make themselves known among future potential researchers at an international level and recognize this as part of the success of any scientific research: the collaborative exchange of experiences and results regardless of any social, cultural or gender prejudice. To promote the linguistic competence in the first and second foreign language studied at school by providing them with a basic tool. In short. STUDENTS: to promote STEM and ecological values in a transversal way to awaken vocations of researchers involved in the sustainable development of science. To provide equal access to the scientific world rejecting preconceived ideas and internationalizing their work. To develop linguistic competence. TEACHERS: to exchange high-quality scientific teaching practices incorporating ICT resources. To provide a digital and collaborative workspace. To offer an international dimension to teaching work. FAMILIES, to improve the perception of families about STEAM university studies.

Background

As a bilingual English secondary school, also teaching French as the second foreign language, that works with teenagers from a low-middle socioeconomic class, we bring them closer to the scientific world and ensure equal opportunities. We also create a space for reflection on the influence of science in our lives by carrying out national and international projects. As a continuation of the work that had been carried out since 2014 to stimulate, together with the key competences (with the Linguistic competence as the main work tool), the research spirit and creativity, applying the STEAM methodology, offering teachers a practical sense and experimental of their didactic work in science as well as preparing students to access the University with the best guarantees and, of course, creating authentic scientific vocations. We participate very actively in informative Science events. In addition, our pupils study subjects related to science as well as other non-compulsory subjects in which we work in the laboratory to introduce students to the concepts of Research, Development and Innovation (R&D) Researchers from the University of Córdoba, IAS- CSIC and IMIBIC collaborate with us.
