The objectives that we hoped to achieve with this project are the following: Objective 1: Improve and root in our students the concept of gender equality and between people belonging to different socioeconomic and cultural environments. Objective 2: Achieve an improvement in our students' social skills. Objective 3: Improve the linguistic skills of our students, both in their language and in the common language of the project(English), and awaken their interest in other European languages. Objective 4: Develop digital skills in our students and their use in a critical and responsible way. Objective 5: Make students know, value and respect their own historical and cultural heritage, as well as that of the host countries and thus reinforce their feeling of belonging to the European Union.
Our school seeks to form people who participate actively in social life, willing to communicate and collaborate with others in order to ensure the common good of society, to raise conscientious citizens who would use their talents and values to build a better society. The project was created in response to two basic needs identified at the level of our school: the need to boost students' motivation and their social conscience and the need to promote intercultural dialogue among people from different countries and backgrounds, in a European context which is now facing great challenges. Therefore, we decided to approach these needs from a gender perspective with a doouble aspect: On the one hand, we wanted to reflect about the role women have played in different fields of knowledge (Science, Art, Sports and Human and Social Rights) and about different situations and stereotypes, to make students aware of how important they are in modern society’s personal and social development and to achieve finally a real equality and equity. On the other hand, we wanted them to experience what it means to be European, to expose them to different ways of thinking, values and beliefs.
