Objectives

We have managed to improve in the following aspects: - Renew the teaching methodologies in different didactic areas of our school, through the observation and importation of good educational practices from other educational systems. - Encourage collaborative and team work between different departments, through the implementation of center projects, following the PBL (Project Based Learning) methodology. We can highlight the implementation of Etwinning projects, in particular the project "A Better Life for 2030", awarded with the National Quality Stamp. - Improve the English language skills of teachers and students. - Inspire innovative projects in the use of technology and ICT as well as to foster greater use of ICT tools and resources by our teachers. As a result, our school is in the process of implementing a Digital Plan for the next academic year. - Strengthen the European dimension of IES Sabina Mora through teacher training and the implementation of Erasmus+ projects (KA122 and KA121, among other programmes).

Background

Our school, IES Sabina Mora, is a public school located in Roldán (Torre-Pacheco, Murcia). Apart from the studies of ESO and Bachillerato, in our school we develope different programs, amongst which we can highlight: 1) Bilingual Program (SELE), which involves attending classes of certain subjects in English. 2) European Erasmus Programs. Our school has a long tradition in European programs, with a meaningful involvement of students and teachers staff. 3) Compensatory Education Program, homed in on students who live in a disadvantaged social context and with more than 2 years of curricular gap. They receive additional lessons in Spanish language and Mathematics. 4) Basic Vocational Training Program in Computer Science and Telecommunications. 5) 2 teachers of Therapeutic Pedagogy and a Hearing and Language specialist, who assist students with special educational needs. Our students are between 12 and 18 years old. The student profile is very heterogeneous, both in terms of socio-cultural level and nationality, since 45% of our students are immigrants, mainly from Maghreb.
