They will also have the opportunity to share good practice with their European counterparts and learn from each other. To bring code to people who are normally excluded: This project aims to bring coding to people who may not have had the opportunity to learn about it before.
We aim to leverage the popularity and acceptance of esports to provide students with an interactive and engaging way to learn about the importance of environmental issues and their role in the world of gaming. The goal of the project is for students to design and code their own video game with an environmental aspect, and then organize an esports event using the games they created. Through this process, students will not only develop valuable skills in game development and coding, but also learn about the importance of environmental issues. The project was divided into several steps. Firstly, students and their German counterparts went on local visits to learn about the environmental issues. Afterwards, they designed their games incorporating these issues. Students were taught how to program their games using a program called MakeCode, and then set about creating their games. They also tested out their games on the Pygamers and investigated how to solve problems. Finally, students organized an Esports event where they could showcase their hard work and promote environmental awareness to their peers and the wider community.
