Our project had the following five objectives. Objective 1: To analyze an environmental problem from different points of view to generate critical thinking skills in students in relation to the impact of their life model on the sustainability of the planet. Objective 2: To promote proximity and sustainable mobility to improve air quality. This objective is related to objective 11 of the 2030 Agenda of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Objective 3: To promote local consumption both from the point of view of sustainable food and consumption of clothes (slow fashion). This objective is related to SDG number 12. Objective 4: To improve language skills especially in terms of both written and oral expression, both in first and second foreign language of students (English and French). Objective 5: To develop transversal skills: creativity, innovation, critical thinking, entrepreneurship, ICT, values, initiative, learning to learn, social education and intercultural cooperation.
GREEN is a project conceived by Salesianos San Juan Bosco Valencia, collaborating with the schools Euregio Gymnasium and Notre Dame des Minimes. For years, we have had a close relationship with both of them carrying out international projects, both online and with physical mobilities. Moreover, with the French school we were finishing a KA229 project for "School Exchange Partnerships" related to the main topic of this GREEN project. Thanks to this previous project, there has been a significant change in the sustainability of both centers, so the idea with our GREEN project was to further develop these learnings with a new project and also to expand them to other school partners. Students analyzed the origin of the food they consume on a daily basis, the places where the clothes they wear are made, and how they get from one place to another. In short, we wanted them to develop critical thinking skills so they care about sustainability, and that this change transcends in their immediate surroundings and society.
