Objectives

1. To make students aware of other musical cultures and, with it, a sense of togetherness and solidarity with others countries. Participating in a project like this, in which partners from different European countries have taken part, is in itself a demonstration of our interest in culture -particularly music- as an element of union between the different. Learning and appreciating the cultural heritage that surrounds us, as well as knowing the history, tradition and variety of music around us, enhances the comprehensive education of the student as a person and as a European citizen. 2. To increase, through musical creativity, cultural and intercultural awareness among students. One of the objectives of this project has been to provide students with the opportunity to exchange knowledge, experiences and feelings. Conveying messages to the participating countries with music and body language, solidarity in a special post-pandemic context, communication skills, involvement, empathy, well-being, inclusion. The intention has been to make students aware of their own musical culture and learn about other cultures.

Background

In our organization we adopt an educational model that guarantees respect, the peaceful resolution of conflicts, equal opportunities, inclusion and non-discrimination and that acts as a compensator for personal, cultural, economic and social inequalities. Likewise, we convey to our students the importance of living in a globalized world where different people live together under common criteria of respect and civic values. On the other hand, music is increasingly present in our center; in fact, several years ago the Baccalaureate of Arts was incorporated into our educational offer, in which subjects such as Musical Analysis, Performing Arts and Musical Practice are studied, where music plays a leading role. In this context, we consider as beneficial for our institution the development of a project that presents music as a cultural manifestation, unites us in a global society and enhances the values of European citizenship.
