Objectives

In order to carry out the main objective of this project, we set out to create a supportive learning environment that would be beneficial for all students and teachers and effectively prevent all forms of harassment and discrimination in education and school settings. Once the project was executed, the participants managed to obtain the following skills: They adapted the knowledge to the individual needs of the students who presented special educational needs to avoid their social exclusion and give them the same opportunities for success. They developed a thought aimed at the internationalization of centers to be able to lead future projects at a European level or through the Etwinning platform. They improved the linguistic quality from real contexts. They analyzed the daily practice, the mistakes made and resolved them based on the new knowledge acquired. They acquired approaches and strategies to prevent and reduce conflicts in the classroom and at the center, which included pedagogical methods, school climate, teacher-student relationship, etc. They identified dynamics and characteristics of conflicts and the most effective strategies to prevent them.

Background

The project in which we wanted to immerse ourselves is closely related to the context of our organization as a school. Before making the request, we analyzed what our points were to improve in order to offer a better educational quality to our students and parents, as well as to teachers. Therefore, we thought it was a good opportunity to send 6 teachers from our school to learn about how students with special needs are managed in various European schools (Helsinki) and obtain tools to combat cyberbullying (Bologna). The choice of these courses was not due to a deficit in our center, but we took it as obtaining tools to improve skills in the aforementioned areas.
