The main objectives are: 1. To improve pupils' language skills and to bring cultures closer together. 2. To promote European values. 3. To promote ICT as a tool for learning and empowerment. The project consists of a rapprochement between cultures through two main threads: environmental awareness and sustainability in the project carried out with the Czech Republic and the importance of physical activity as an element of cohesion among young people and a driving force for a healthy lifestyle in the project developed with the Irish pupils. In the project with the Czech Republic, 15 pupils from the 1st Baccalaureate and 12 Czech pupils took part. The work has been interdisciplinary, involving students from both educational institutions (Salesians Strait and Gymnazium Olomouc-Hejcîn) in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and ICT. In the Project with Ireland, 14 Spanish students from Salesianos Estrecho and 14 Irish partners from Coláiste Mhuire in Kilkenny took part. The pupils have lived closely together, staying with their respective families, once the restrictions of the pandemic were over.
The project is framed in our school, in secondary education. Through collaborative learning we wanted students to experience the European Education Systems and their curricula with the aim of broadening their horizons and thinking within a European educational and cultural environment. Activities have focused on the main issues of European concern such as climate change and respect for the environment, promotion of European values such as peace and solidarity, sport as a European value for social cohesion and equality.
