Objectives

iii. Our school has opted for the implementation of methodological changes that transform and improve the learning process, from a perspective of social equality, in which the different sensitivities and ways of learning of the students are respected, contributing to the achievement of some development objectives that make up the 2030 Agenda. We focus on transformation on the one hand, giving special importance to the design and management of spaces, since space is considered the third teacher (Loris Malaguzzi) and can improve performance and learning. On the other hand, the implementation of gamification in daily practice and the introduction to robotics from work with Legos would constitute a basis on which to project another space: the classroom of the future. In addition, the Infant stage began its methodological change from the implementation of the work by environments, which is committed to inclusive learning, respecting the natural development of the students. Pedagogies like Montessori will enrich your teaching practice. Finally, another of our objectives was to gain experience in the management of European projects and broaden our expectations to carry out other larger ones in the future.

Background

We are a state school located in the town of Riba-roja del Turia, Valencian Community, Spain, which provides regulated education in the kindergarten and Elementary stages. The methodological line of the kindergarten stage is working by environments, from which students are invited to create their learning from the choice of proposed activities around a field of work. In Primary we carry out a project "Tools that promote responsibility", whose objective is to promote the empowerment of students and respect for human rights. For this purpose we have a group of mediators who help students to resolve conflicts. On the other hand, the school develops other projects such as: "Shared reading" in which students of different levels share a weekly reading space; "Music for all" that constitutes the school choir; and "Inclusive Playgrounds", to encourage play among all students. Our intention is to continue implementing changes with improvements in the school, focusing on the reorganization of the spaces to make them more attractive and motivating for our students. This is where our project comes from: Sharing spaces, building learning.
