After a school needs analysis process, we set the following as objectives of the project: - Promote environmental sustainability by integrating teaching-learning processes in the natural environment that surrounds us. - Promote the integration of students with barriers and/or potentialities in their learning to prevent the risk of failure and school dropout. - Promote the methodological renewal of teachers to raise the interest of students and promote the acquisition of basic skills. - Develop critical thinking in students and teachers, promoting the role of the student as an active agent in their learning and promoting values that help them grow as future European citizens.
Our educational center is a Grouped Rural School made up of five sections located in towns with between 400 and 2000 inhabitants. Therefore, we are talking about small schools located in sparsely populated rural areas. We have a total of 400 students and 50 teachers, distributed among the five locations. The teaching staff has been renewed in recent years and we currently have close to 90% of permanent teachers, which allows us to set long-term goals in the education of our students. In addition, our center has a large number of students with learning difficulties, students from other countries and students with high abilities, which also requires us to implement different measures that promote educational inclusion. For all these reasons, we propose a simple and realistic project, focused on the methodological renewal of teachers and the acquisition of resources and strategies to promote educational inclusion and outdoor education.
