The following objectives were considered while writing the project in order to offer a more inclusive playground to our students and to our educative community: Promote relationships between equals, in an inclusive way, through the implementation of different spaces for games that encourage the participation of all students and modify the architecture of the patio, turning it into an accessible and practicable space for all the students, in an environment as natural as possible. Among the previously highlighted objectives we have established other minor objectives such as: - To promote inclusion and diversity by creating a welcoming and accepting environment for all students, including those with Special Educational Needs. - To foster a sense of community and promote social integration among all members of the school community. - To provide a safe and accessible space for all students to engage in physical activity and play together, regardless of their age or ability. - To promote physical and mental well-being by providing opportunities for students to engage in physical activity and play, which can help reduce stress and anxiety and promote positive mental health.
Our school was created more than 50 years ago and during that time education has changed quite a lot, and the school's infrastructure too with the aim of proving a better educative space to our educative community. Today we receive every year around 2700 students from different parts of our city as well as from different parts of our region. Among them, we can also find students with Special Educational Needs. Based on this brief information, we decided to carry out a project in which we can improve the quality of our playground as a tool that motivates inclusion among our students. By doing so, an inclusive playground would demonstrate the school's commitment to inclusivity and diversity, and provide a welcoming and accepting environment for all students and their families. This would help to create a positive school culture and foster a sense of belonging among all members of the school community. We believe that adapting our playground so all different kinds of students can create a sense of community would be a valuable addition to Liceo La Paz, helping to promote inclusivity, social integration, physical and mental well-being, and a positive school culture.
