Background

IES Arcebispo Xelmírez II High School teaches ESO and Bachillerato (Secondary education and European Baccalaurete in Science and Humanities) and develops several educational programs, some of them listed here: - Baccalaureate of Excellence in Science and Technology. - Science Club. - Proxecta Plan. - Contratos Programa (Innovation strategies attending Diversity and Excellence) . - Bilingual sections in English. - MarumaSat Project of the Galician School Space Agency (NOSA). - School exchanges with Oslo (2019/20) and Moscow (2018/19 and 2019/20). Our students come from average socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, but there is great diversity. Nowadays, there is an increasing number of students with a high sociocultural level, with great academic expectations and excellent results. On the other hand, a percentage of 10% of immigrant and ethnic minority students -such as gypsies- with low academic expectations, has remained fairly stable. Even though the school had not applied for any projects until the present one, we have actually participated in some of them as partners: - ObservaAcción project in 2018-19 (KA2). - ATS STEM Pilot in 2020-21 (KA3). - PHERECLOS project in 2020-21.
