1. Professional strengthening of teachers, with new methodologies and ICT, this implies a didactic and methodological update of our teachers, by improving skills related to the use of new teaching techniques such as learning to learn or collaborative learning and the use of emerging technologies in the classroom. 2. Consolidate the bilingual program, improving the communication skills in English for teachers of non-linguistic disciplines, such as Technology and Physical Education. 3. Broadening the European dimension of the school, with the aim of establishing relationships with teachers from other schools in other countries, in order to participate in projects involving students, as well as future job shadowing mobilities and cooperation in eTwinning projects.
The IES de Candás is a secondary school located in the council of Carreño, on the central coast of Asturias. It currently has 438 students and 56 teachers. During the last few years there have been important changes in the teaching staff of our school, mainly due to a significant percentage of teachers who have gradually retired and a large number of younger teachers with less teaching experience have joined, enthusiastic to learn and benefit from the opportunities that the Erasmus+ program offers. We designed this project with the aim of getting a methodological enrichment for our teachers, which has been noticed with more emphasis as a result of the new educational laws derived from Lomloe, when this project was already running. Moreover, we intend to strengthen the bilingual program, which has been developed for some years and we also aspire to get to know and establish networks with other European schools in order to establish future channels of cooperation in projects involving student mobilities.
