A main objective of the school in terms of its development plan is to try to ensure the employability and personal growth of students through educational plans in our school and supported in large part by international activities where we want the Erasmus+ program to be a cornerstone. The specific objective that will help us to achieve such a main goal is to involve all students and staff in the internationalizing program in which the students become participants in an Erasmus+ project that will increase their level of professionalism, their transversal skills and abilities and ultimately be an example for the future staff and students in the school. The fundamental objective in carrying out the project is that the students could acquire more international work, professional and educational experience that will allow them to have a broader vision of the companies and their clients in a totally globalized business world. The internships in the companies allow them to add to their curriculum vitae a competitive advantage to access the labor and professional world in our country.
We applied for this Erasmus+ project after years participating in consortia coordinated by other schools in the province of Valencia. This was the 2nd project we applied for alone after the approval of KA102 in 2020 and we did it because we wanted to manage directly everything related to the project to have more freedom and to be able to manage ourselves all the assigned grants. ECOTUR is the first Hotel-School in the specialty of Hospitality and Tourism recognized by the Conselleria de Educación to provide regulated and approved vocational training cycles. Our goal is to expand the academic possibilities of the hotel and gastronomic branch in the Valencian Community. The school is located in the emblematic Hotel Olympia in Alboraya, which allows us to offer first class facilities while the students experience the rhythm and the real demands of a kitchen with great activity and a high level of exigency. At the time of writing this report, the center has already executed 1 project (out of 2020) in addition to the one referred to in this report. In addition, we have just been awarded the ECHE charter to be able to offer Erasmus+ projects to our higher degree courses.
