Objectives

The main objective of this project is to reduce environmental pollution and to raise awareness among students about recycling and pollution. To achieve this objective it is expected to gain new knowledge about recycling management as well as new recycling methods. A second objective, which may not have been expressed correctly in the project application, is to enhance, update the learning methodology and digital competences of the only CFGS in Automotive that is carried out in the school. This objective derives from the fact that in the 2019-2020 academic year the school lost the CFGS in Telecommunications Installations and the school wishes to provide its CFGS (High Education) students with up-to-date training and the latest European technology so that they are no longer socially excluded and can become part of the labour market, including the European labour market.

Background

The context of the project "Starting a new period of recycling at Monturiol" focuses on the school's aim to participate in the improvement of environmental conditions worldwide, starting by reducing and improving the recycling of oils in the vehicles with which the students learn in the automotive department where the CFGM of vehicle and automobile electromechanics and the CFGS of Automotive are taught. Regarding the context of the Narcís Monturiol Institute of Figueres, it is located in one of the most economically difficult areas of the city. Therefore, the main actions carried out at the centre are aimed at the internationalisation and inclusion of the members of the centre, as well as improving knowledge about environmental issues and learning new recycling methods. The school offers its members the following types of studies: Compulsory Secondary Education, Baccalaureate, Intermediate Level Training Cycles in the professional families of Electricity and Electronics, Personal Image, Installation and Maintenance and Vehicle Transport and Maintenance.
