The first and most important objective was to provide a pathway for students in the second year of Basic and Intermediate Vocational Training to take part of the training module in workplaces in a European country. An experience that allows them a personal growth in all aspects as well as a proficiency improvement in a second language. Secondly, we wanted to increase the number of partner organisations to host and receive participants. Especially in countries where we had not had previous experience of collaboration (for instance France). Another important objective in our project has been to encourage the participation of people with fewer opportunities through an inclusive project. Among these people we have set ourselves the priority of running mobilities with students of basic vocational training. Regarding the teaching staff, it was very important for us to increase the number of participants in Erasmus mobilities. It was about taking firm steps forward in the internationalization of the center and also towards a future accreditation of the center. Finally, we wanted to pave the way for mobilities with an important digital component.
The IES Cap de Llevant, a secondary and vocational school in Menorca, has been implementing Erasmus+ projects since 2016, both in terms of mobility for students in basic and intermediate vocational training cycles and mobility for students and staff in higher vocational training cycles. The participants of this project have been students and teachers of the following studies: (1) Basic Vocational study of “Hairdressing and Aesthetics”, (2) Intermediate Vocational Training study “Instructor in Guiding in the Natural Environment and Leisure Time” (3) 2 groups of the intermediate Vocational Training study “Expert in auxiliary Nursery Care” (4) Intermediate Vocational Training study "Care for Dependent Persons" and (5) Intermediate Vocational Training study “Hairdressing and Hair Cosmetics”. This is a universe of six vocational training groups comprising approximately 120 students. Our school has a faculty of approximately 130 members, of whom 40 exclusively exercise their teaching task in professional training while 9 members exercise it partially. We are also a host centre for many European mobilities mainly from partners in Denmark, Slovenia, Iceland, Norway and now, most recently, France and Finland.
