The INS Joaquim Mir in Vilanova i la Geltrú is a public school owned by the Generalitat de Catalunya, a town near Barcelona, well communicated. Our centre offers the following courses: ESO, Baccalaureate, Vocational Education Training and Higher Vocational Training. For years, our school has been facing various needs of our students, such as youth unemployment, truancy, school dropout and lack of motivation. In order to solve these needs, to ensure that students acquire a better preparation for the labour market, to motivate them with new challenges and to create a more innovative teaching, we are following a plan of internationalisation of the centre in which this project is framed. Our OBJECTIVES are to manage inclusion and diversity, develop professional and personal competences, including self-esteem, autonomy and maturity. To improve their language and communication skills. To provide study and work experiences abroad, thus improving their employability. To increase motivation for education and decrease school failure and drop-out rates. To improve their attitude towards interculturality and develop European awareness.
