Background

From the international perspective, the importance of skills and competencies acquired in Higher Education has been recognized, and for this reason the role of universities is becoming increasingly important, being a key element for the future of Europe (European Commission, 2006). Within the WHO directive (2020) a call was made to governments to influence the training of health personnel (Nursing and Midwifery). It was observed that on sexual competence, the learning/teaching process in Spain, Italy and Portugal was guided by a behaviorist line based on the biological vision and approached teaching from a reproductive health approach. Knowing that certain factors that influence this are socio-cultural, it became evident that there was a need for sexual competence training with a more holistic vision. For this reason, this project was requested, where a cross-cultural and multidisciplinary training approach has been created that introduces a model of comprehensive sexual education in Higher Education and in other groups (youth associations, women and immigrants), giving new visions in the field of sexual competence and the modernization of sexual education in the socio-health field.
