Objectives

1. To provide students with competences in Emotional Intelligence, Nonviolent Communication and Alternative Masculinities, in order to empower and critically position themselves in the face of stereotypes, inequality and gender violence. 2. To train teachers in Emotional Intelligence, Nonviolent Communication and Alternative Masculinities. As well as in the use of the educational tools provided by this project, to fight against gender stereotypes and their consequences on their students.

Background

There are multiple factors and causes that explain the inequality between men and women. But one of the fundamental ones is the cultural construction of gender roles, which is based on stereotypes or shared beliefs about the personality traits and behaviours of each sex. The persistence of these roles and stereotypes has detrimental consequences for women and girls from an early age For this reason LOOK LIKE ME focused on secondary school students and teachers, training them in Emotional Intelligence, Nonviolent Communication and Alternative Masculinities in order to tackle this problem in the early stages, before affecting the adult ages. FROM THE SIDE OF THE PARTNERSHIP: LOOK LIKE ME responded to the needs identified in the partner organisations with effective activities for the benefit of the local educational communities in relation to their efforts to fight against gender inequality and gender-based violence. The project reinforced cooperation in order to fight against stereotypes, exclusion and inequality. FROM THE SIDE OF TARGET GROUPS. LOOK LIKE ME responsed to the educational or training needs raised by the target groups in relation to inequalities, exclusion or violence based on gender stereotypes and roles.
