Objectives

The main objective of this project is to train and empower secondary school teachers, offering them opportunities to improve their professional competencies and their role by learning new methodologies that will develop their skills in moderating open dialogue. The specific objectives to be achieved are: - To develop the digital competencies of secondary school educators and their abilities to facilitate dialogue. - To develop students' digital competencies and give voice to their thoughts, opinions and ideas on current social phenomena that trigger social exclusion. - To develop a comprehensive and integrated EU policy and practical guide to support the use of open dialogue by educators to improve the social inclusion of students

Background

The project was introduced to respond to the challenges identified in school education. The partners grasped the urgency to come up with concrete answers to support teachers and educators to use digital tools to increase their capacity to engage students and, most importantly, to address social issues contributing to social inclusion in an interactive manner. Through dialogue, mental models change and reconcile with civic competencies. eDialogue was launched to train and empower teachers by offering them opportunities to improve their professional competencies by learning new methodologies that enhance their ability to moderate open dialogue. The tools and methodologies that have been developed help teachers to use open dialogue to address challenges and aspects of social exclusion. An easy-to-use platform has been developed with learning modules divided into the topics. These modules have resources and theoretical content, which help teachers to integrate open dialogue to fight against social exclusion. With the policy recommendations that have also been identified, the system is encouraged to change so that the entire educational system implements these practices promoting the ultimate goal of the project: social inclusion.
