The project pursued objectives on several levels: 1.- To decrease overall stereotypical gender roles & norms and promote exchange between and among male and female youngsters on these topics; 2.- To sensitize for, prevent and decrease stranger harassment behaviours as form of sexual violence in male youth 3.- To sensitize for, strengthen and provide tools for female youth to cope with and empower them against stranger harassment and sexual violence 4.- To qualifying educators for teaching about these topics in an inclusive, blended-learning approach 5.- To create a guide for educators to teach and give support on the issue of stranger harassment and gender roles & norms.
The project's actions have aimed to address the problem of street harassment (i.e. catcalling), as well as stereotypical gender norms and roles in Europe. To this end, a training program has been designed and delivered aimed at young people on the threshold of forming and promoting their gender identity. Its content, based on the political recommendations of the International Women's Initiative (2020), implements and in an innovative way the recommendations on preventing and combating sexism of the Council of Europe (2019), as well as the European Commission Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025 (2020).
