Objectives

The covid has generated a pandemic that has drastically changed the labor market in the last year. On the one hand, it has generated a large increase in unemployment, especially among young people, according to the National Institute of Statistics. In the case of Spain, the youth unemployment rate stood at 39.9% in January of this year, placing us as the European country with the highest youth unemployment. On the other hand, in the midst of this time of uncertainty there are some businesses that have survived and even proliferated, digitized businesses. As some of the measures against the virus are isolation and the reduction of contact between people, some companies have had to close and others have adapted to the digital world to offer their services in a different way. Digital technology plays a key role in the labor plane for many sectors, generating a turning point for digitization and the beginning of a new digital era. The report “Who is prepared for the new digital age?” of the European Investment Bank (EIB) reflects interesting data derived from digitization in Spain, such as: 60% of digital companies have increased the number of employees in the last three years compared to 52% of non-digital companies; the increase in productivity and the average salary of employees, being 1.2 times higher in digital companies; or that among the obstacles to digitization are taxes, labor market regulation and the lack of availability of personnel. Hard work is not necessary to take a job or a company to the online world, some simple examples can be: digital business cards, selling in the market place, using brand influencers, accessing the restaurant menu with a QR code on the table , payments with bizum, or make business use of social networks. Faced with this situation, we establish the theme of the DIGITALVOLUTION project, since we consider that the digitalization of jobs and companies is a great market niche in which unemployed young people can develop their future work, or even create their own digital businesses such as a influencers or community manager for business. Project objectives: - Business digitization - Promote the entrepreneurial spirit of young people - Reduce youth unemployment These are specified in: - Discover new niches in the digital market - Provide tools for business digitization - Generate new business ideas - Increase the digital skills of young people - Stimulate creativity and adaptability Our objectives were related to the priorities of the Erasmus+ 2021-2027 program and the Spanish National Agency, for the field of youth: - Development of relevant and high-quality skills and competencies, especially those aimed at promoting employability and socio-educational and personal development, as well as participation in social and civic life. - Taking advantage of digital technologies and innovative and open pedagogies in education, training, youth and sport - Significant contribution by stimulating innovation and bridging the gap in Europe's knowledge, skills and competences - Dismantle barriers related to: disabilities, socioeconomic situation, discrimination or geographic location - Promotion of education and lifelong learning, non-formal and informal education and work in the field of youth (including digital work in this field) with a cultural and creative component. - Development of digital skills, as the set of knowledge and skills that allow the safe and efficient use of information and communication technologies - Promote education for entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship and non-profit activities among young people. We deal with the issue of adapting jobs to the digital world and youth entrepreneurship in these niches, through non-formal and informal education, trying to cover latent needs in our society: - Need to reduce the youth unemployment rate - Need for available personnel to fill digital positions - Need for recognition of digital skills not regulated educationally
