Objectives

The bilateral project TACKLING STEREOTYPES 4. 0 took place at Easter 2022 in the town of Villablanca where 40 young people, most of them with fewer opportunities, from Spain and Portugal shared a space where, on the one hand, values, feelings of interculturality and healthy habits were instilled through sport, On the other hand, we used this common element (the love for sport) to approach precisely the group in which we want to prevent the youth of our localities from falling into, the drug addicts, with the idea of sharing good moments with them and at the same time to know first hand this social reality, offering them healthy life and sport as an element of support for their fight against their problems. All of this with the collaboration and support of coaches and players from the rugby teams of the participating cities, as well as the workers of Proyecto Hombre Huelva and ARO who advise us and are an active part of the exchange. We use "scouting" as an element of non-formal education to train in values through sport and different activities such as dynamics, workshops, debate forums... using this leading pedagogical method in non-formal education since 1907. Both the interpersonal experience with the rest of the participants, the acquisition of healthy habits knowing minority sports and loaded with values such as Rugby, the direct contact and link created with drug addicts and alcoholics in rehabilitation with whom we share activities and collaborate as volunteers and the accumulation of sensations that produce this exchange in the participants, will make it a punctual experience in time, but lasting in the experiences, social awareness, interculturality and personal training of the participants throughout their growth as people of our Europe of today and tomorrow. *objectives: - To encourage outdoor activities and sports as a way of occupying young people's free time in a healthy way. - To observe and participate in the effects of drug and alcohol addiction and alcoholism both on individuals and indirectly on their families, getting closer to this group and understanding them as people who are recovering from addiction, giving them faces and feelings. - To get to know the culture of the respective localities of the young participants as well as our own, and to create an atmosphere of union and integration among all, emphasising the importance of English for European unity, getting all the children to try to communicate in English and to dare to express themselves in public in front of the rest of the group. - To get all the children to integrate by giving the shy ones a leading role in the activities. - Promote the development of debate and proposal skills through group dynamics and other dialectic activities. - To develop coexistence among the international participants of the exchange, understanding ourselves as a global whole that must move towards a common goal. - To build a space of opinion and exchange proposals for our free time. - To discover first-hand the cultural and social reality of young people from other countries on our continent. - Cultural diversity: we will have young people from countries with very different cultural backgrounds, who, through the programmed activities, will learn about the different positions on the issues to be addressed. - Inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities: We have young people living different socio-economic and socio-health realities, as well as children with very different cultural and geographical roots. Tackling Stereotypes 4.0 is the logical continuation of a project already carried out by the same associations and with the same objectives, with the exception that we have improved the programme after having evaluated the last exchange, and that on this occasion we are offering this alternative to other new children (if the first exchange was a success in terms of objectives, multiplier effect in their localities and impact, we are obliged to be able to reach more children, thus reinforcing the values we have worked on).
