The ongoing Covid-19 crisis has worsened the already difficult environment for NEETs, as the opportunities for youth are becoming more and more scarce in these difficult times. Thus, the project wanted to motivate and prepare youth workers to expand the range of opportunities for NEETs. This way, the main objectives of this project were to: • Increase the professional competencies of youth workers on Erasmus+ and the different opportunities that provide for the empowerment of the NEETs youngsters they work with. • Deepen youth workers’ knowledge of the Erasmus+ program and KA1 mobility projects, and to improve their understanding of European values which stand as the core of the Erasmus+ program (such as equality and inclusion). • Increase the quality of youth work by equipping youth workers with better knowledge, skills, and competencies to develop and implement quality transnational projects for the empowerment of NEETs. More specifically, the project’s objectives were: • To teach youth workers how to write a Key Action 1 mobility project & how to better engage, support, and empower NEETs through them. • To encourage youth workers to work and apply for quality projects that increase the number of open non-formal education opportunities for NEETs in Europe. • To help and motivate youth workers and organizations to keep working or open new lines of work with NEET youngsters. • To develop social and intercultural competencies and critical thinking among youth workers through group work, exchange of best practices, and identification of shortcomings & opportunities in each organization. • To develop partnerships between national organizations and building transnational networks, increasing the level of exchange of best practices and level of capacities of national youth organizations. The project was based on the implementation of a training that would offer the expertise from experienced professionals in Erasmus+, as well as professional trainers and facilitators with a special background in innovative practices and methodologies that can be implemented when working with NEETs groups through non-formal education. Through this project, the participating youth workers have increased their capabilities and motivation to create, implement, and disseminate international projects focused on the empowerment of NEETs. This is expected to increase the general opportunities for training and education of NEETs. Furthermore, after the professional development activity we have helped and supervised the implementation of an organizational plan within our partner organizations. This way, the attending youth workers have been able to disseminate their acquired knowledge within their organizations and there is an increase in the creation of opportunities for NEETs youths.
