The project "Connect with your neighborhood" aims to carry out actions aimed at promoting relations between youth and political representatives, who carry out political and social actions related to youth and participation. It aims to improve communication in the case that already exist relations between the youth and the people responsible for policies such as the council, the city council, or the provincial council. On the way to achieving our ultimate goal what we were looking for was to meet and unite a group of young people in the area of Pizarrales, and empower the group so that autonomously and collectively, they were able to have a critical eye for the improvement of environments and actions aimed at youth and youth participation in their neighborhood, in their city, in their province, in their country and throughout Europe. More specifically, we wanted to get young people from the Pizarrales area to join together in the same space to share their visions and ideas to make the environments in which they develop something better, with their own look and that this could be transferred to other areas of the city of Salamanca, with the group as a generator and transferor of ideas (even to other cities in Spain and the rest of Europe). We were looking for young people who are already participating in groups with trajectory in the neighborhood, to get together with other young people who know the associative movement of the neighborhood but on the contrary do not participate and with those who do not have any information related to social participation, to share experiences and to discuss how to change the world, starting from their context. On the other hand, it is fundamental to be able to accompany them in the process with training pills that will strengthen their actions. We have sought to break down barriers to which they were subjected by the area in which they are located, providing small training pills on participation in spaces where they can acquire tools to be able to exercise their right in a more conscious, safe and free way. We were looking for and have found a niche of young people between 13 and 30 years old who enjoy interacting and working together for the improvement of their environment, which will also influence the improvement of the welfare of all people in the area, as well as their social and emotional well-being. The objectives we set for this project were the following: General: - To bring closer to the target neighborhood product of situations of inequality throughout its history, the possible collective change towards an inclusive reality through participatory actions. - Generate and empower a group of youth participation for decision making and autonomous management of changes at local, regional, national and transnational levels, from a critical and democratic point of view. Specific: - To develop actions that enhance active youth participation within the community. - To enable equal access to resources among youth groups. - To encourage coexistence between groups of young people of different ethnicities and cultures through the expression of joint needs and the creation of actions for collective growth. - To create links with the associations and entities of the neighborhood as representatives of the neighborhood and of those with the public administrations. - To show the youth collective different ways of approach and participation with the organisms and public administrations at local, national and European level. - To dynamize the youth collective for the formation of active and autonomous groups for their community. to promote the use of public spaces The professional team of the Plan B Social Education Foundation and the group of young people (with whom we are still working today), we highlight, on the one hand, the achievement of all the specific objectives with each of the actions, however small they were, and on the other hand, we frame the general objectives as goals that are being achieved and that need a longer term for their complete achievement. In this sense, we emphasize the importance of wanting to achieve them and for this the team and the group of young people will continue working on the dynamization of spaces for participation.
