The project was initiated to enhance knowledge in higher education (HE) and vocational education and training (VET) regarding textile materials, textile technology, sustainability and circular economy (CE). A part of this endeavor included the development of small learning units and micro-credentials that could provide a flexible way to develop one's competences in the textile and clothing sector.
Education of textile materials, sustainability and the circular economy in the textile and clothing sector (TCS) is undergoing significant changes. By researching the skill gaps, designing the micro-credentials and developing quality assurance practices in higher and vocational education and training (VET) in the textile and clothing field, SusTexEdu project aimed to lay the foundation to support institutions and teachers internationally in developing and intertwining these themes into study programmes and to offer relevant educational material as micro-credentials in response to the recent changes in the working life.
