Participating in this project would allow the group of beneficiaries to gain more experience in using digital tools and improving their digital literacy competences. Therefore, we were expecting to get a better insight into the digital environment and to discover new tools that would be useful for a non-formal educational centre. We were also looking forward to improving our understanding of the programs that we are currently using, such as shared Google documents, Canva, Excel, etc. Moreover, we also wanted to improve our theoretical basis in the sustainable development field in order to be able to propose pertinent activities for the members of our community. On the other hand, we also expected that this training would improve the cohesion of the team, leading to a better collaboration among its members.
Community is an association that works to maintain social links between inhabitants and to strengthen solidarity between generations. Impregnated with the popular education movement, our organization designs and implements fun and varied activities aimed at improving the well-being of our public and promoting the “living together” value. We have always used digital tools for creating and animating our workshops. Moreover, apart from using these for our workshops, we have also used them during team meetings, to present and better understand the topics under discussion. However, so far, digital tools were not considered a need or a priority, but rather a support. Nonetheless, since the Covid global pandemic started, introducing the digital element in most of our activities has become a requisite. Other competences that we hoped to achieve were rather focused on the sustainable entrepreneurial approach that we envisage to implement, as this would allow us to propose self-funding activities and to help develop our community in a sustainable way.
