This project is part of a broader educational project that aims to promote excellence in the STMG technology series at Victor Schoelcher high school. The aim was to change the unfavourable image that students have of this series by giving them real professional prospects with the possibility of pursuing excellent studies. To achieve this objective, the project sets up the conditions for the success of these students by working on academic aspects but also on personal development aspects. In this respect, there is a lack of self-confidence, autonomy and openness to the world. The mobility project targeted both academic skills and personal development. Indeed, in terms of language skills, the actual level of the students in this series is often below the disciplinary expectations and they develop an aversion to the subject because of their often low results. However, this subject could be a plus for further study, as English is an important part of economics and management courses.
Schoelcher High School is one of the oldest high schools in the Académie. The school's motto is "EXCELLENCE FOR ALL" and the commitment of the management and teaching staff is to "do everything possible to ensure the success of our students". Today, this general and technological high school offers education from the second year of secondary school to Bac +2 with two BTS specialities: SME Management and Operational Commercial Management. The total number of pupils and students at the school is 900, with 120 teachers. The school prepares students for the General Bac with the following specialities History, geography, geopolitics and political science - foreign languages, literature and culture - humanities, literature and philosophy - mathematics - physics and chemistry - science and technology. It prepares students for the Technological Baccalaureate in Management and Management Technology with 4 specialities: Marketing, Management and Finance, Information and Management Systems and Human Resources and Communication. The general high school has been offering a module of excellence for many years, but the students in the STMG sections do not participate in it.
