Our project "Rompsay in Italy and Estonia" which ran from September 2021 to February 2023 aimed at offering work placement opportunities to our learners in the two countries mentioned previously, with whom we had established contacts and agreements for a few months. Unfortunately we didn’t agree with our partner in Salerno (Campania) and have shifted our mobilities towards Brescia (Lombardy). Regarding the project in Voru (Estonia), an internal affair specific to the school led us to put an end to the partnership. We managed to bounce back and found another partnership with Portugal in Faro. Despite those hardships, the project was a success. Indeed the learners and the staff managed to improve their professional and linguistic skills and developed a sense of European citizenship. They also improved cross-disciplinary target skills such as adaptability, flexibility and autonomy in a new environment. Besides, we wanted to promote a better image of our industrial trainings by underscoring the necessity of those trainings. We wanted to outline how essential each job, each professional skill is. We also wanted our learners to give the best of themselves, to challenge themselves and to show them they can succeed anywhere.
Our vocational school had been committed to a long term partnership with 3 German schools for professional internships which were planned each year on an exchange basis. Our learners would go for a 3-week training within a German company and we would host German students over a 3- week period in return. A project with Erasmus+ in I.T and electronics in Dublin had been going on for 8 years. One of our teachers who backed our application and the implementation of the project is experienced in Leonardo and Erasmus + projects (2 Leonardo projects and 5 Erasmus + projects). She is surrounded by a motivated team of teachers who has already been involved in international projects in Africa (Mali, Senegal), in the USA (New Orleans) with the school. The broadening of the destinations initiated 2 years ago (Brescia and Salerno in Italy) for the work placements of our learners in all fields is going on naturally striving for a policy of opening up to the world so dear to our school. So was the project “Rompsay in Italy and Estonia” initiated.
