Our establishment wanted to give BTSA Food Sciences and Technologies students the opportunity to carry out their compulsory 1st year internship abroad. Without funding from the European Union, it would have been unthinkable for these young people from low-income families to implement such a project. It is important to emphasize that our overseas territory is located more than 7,000km from continental Europe. Few students have ever had the opportunity to go beyond the borders of their island. Beyond discovering a different professional environment, we wanted to introduce our young people to the culture and way of life of a European country while practicing English and discovering the language of their host country. Our establishment also wanted to offer mobility for staff members looking for professional progression. The objective being periods of observation, exchanges of practice but also work around international cooperation, namely the preparation of future mobilities for our learners and staff.
