Objectives

We wanted to strengthen the partnership with our Spanish partner who offered expertise in KA2 projects and with our local partners who work with young people who have few job opportunities and sometimes lack of skills and qualifications, especially in the digital field. It also allowed them to have an intercultural opening and to have practical exchanges.Enabling rural youth to be able to increase their digital skills and reduce the digital divide. Indeed they master most of the time social networks even if they are not always aware of the impact of social networks on their professional life in terms of image. On the other hand they do not master the digital tools that serve in professional life or professional digital networks that can be a real asset in their CV and profile, to be attractive for a future employer. The period of covid has accentuated and profoundly changed this digital approach in the professional field with remote tools in particular. It has become essential to master them to have the best possible chance of finding an internship or a job.

Background

The Community of Communes has been involved in European projects since 2015, with the CES project. We are in a very rural area, with big mobility problems and few opportunities for young people. One of our Spanish partners with whom we worked on the ESC, we proposed to develop a KA2 project for rural youth around digital skills. They are experienced in leading this type of project and offered to accompany us, because we are inexperienced for KA2. The target audiences and the objective corresponded to our local issues. Provide opportunities for rural youth to become familiar with digital tools. We can see a growing digital divide. The target audience of young people and young adults who are far from employment and mobility is relevant. We are already working with the local mission and family and rural homes that welcome local youth who may have digital skills issues, mobility, finance. We are in a rather poor territory with few job opportunities for young people. This project increases the skills of young people
