Objectives

Our project aimed to achieve multiple objectives. Firstly, we wanted to raise environmental awareness among students and encourage them to address pressing environmental challenges. Simultaneously, we aimed to promote behavioural changes for sustainable development, emphasizing responsible practices. Another goal was to instill a universal sense of responsibility, urging participants to actively contribute to global environmental challenges, and fostering awareness of EU citizenship. To ensure lasting impact, we sought to establish a strong project structure by creating a network between institutions, facilitating ongoing collaboration for a sustainable future. In addition, we aimed to contribute to participants' professional development by establishing a network among trainers and teachers, providing career opportunities in environmental fields. Enhancing awareness of EU projects was a key focus, helping participants understand the projects' impact on individuals and communities. Our project also addressed cultural understanding by breaking down prejudices through intercultural collaboration. Lastly, we aimed to increase awareness of foreign languages, promoting cross-cultural communication and understanding.

Background

The decision to apply for this project was motivated by a shared commitment to address the challenges faced by students whose futures are at risk due to industrial developments. In alignment with the principles of sustainable development, we recognized the urgency of meeting present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. Our focus was guided by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the realms of education, health services, economic development, inequality reduction, climate change mitigation, and environmental conservation. As institutions, our goal was to contribute to the education of the younger generation, fostering values of environmental respect, responsible resource usage, and a shift towards production-oriented mindsets for the sustainability of humanity. In essence, our application for this project was driven by the imperative to bridge these knowledge gaps, instill a sense of environmental responsibility, and contribute to the overall development and awareness of the young generation in the context of sustainable practices and global goals.
