Objectives

The project provided to the target group identified skills and tools to embark on the digital transformation. The framework study and the collection of good practices provides the examples of successful business and to understand how these are sustainable. Our education tool ( handbook) provides a concrete step by step guide to support the transformation process. Further, the policy consideration helps to identify the barriers and enabling factors for the digital transformation in the Social Economy Sector and navigate what should be improved to further enable such transformation among all the actors of the sector.

Background

SSE employees are wary of adopting digital technology appliances, being afraid of change and disruptive effect on their work. Therefore the awareness- raising is of crucial importance. It serves to show the potential benefit of digital technologies, and also that they remain in the driving seat of this transformation. Using technologies require skills and resources. The key challenge of the digital social economy is to create the skills needed to use them and participate in social economy platforms. These skills include the ability to work within the digital environment and to translate complementary skills such as creativity, high-level cognitive and interpersonal skills to the digital realm. This project represented an unprecedented opportunity for SSEs to exchange and learn about profound challenges related to digitalisation, such as interoperability, change of mindset, change management and translating those into educational material (handbook). By interviewing the leaders of the European SSE networks, conducting focus groups, we established the educational baseline, step by step guide on how to conduct effectively digital transformation for SSE sector.
