The main objective was to develop concrete and innovative tools, such as a toolbox introducing mindfulness practices, to help students better manage their emotions, strengthen their resilience and their commitment to themselves, others and the planet. This holistic approach led to the creation of a learning kit (PR2, PR3, PR4) accompanied by support resources in the form of manuals for trainers and students (PR5, PR6). In addition, recommendations and analysis and evaluation reports (PR1, PR7, PR8, PR9, PR10) were drawn up to reinforce the kit, providing a solid basis for its integration into teaching programs, while promoting collective awareness of climate and social challenges.
MP4s was designed to address urgent mental health needs within higher education institutions, exacerbated by contemporary crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic and environmental challenges. Student surveys show a worrying rise in anxiety and depression: according to the American College Health Association, nearly 60% of students felt “overwhelming” anxiety in 2018-2019, and 40% suffered from severe depression. The situation has deteriorated further with the health crisis, affecting up to 70% of students in North America and Europe. Convinced of the need to offer adapted tools and concrete support to students, but also to stakeholders in higher education, MP4s was designed to enable everyone to develop lasting skills in emotional resilience, emotional intelligence and stress management, preparing them to face the challenges of today and tomorrow.
