Objectives

The SUBA project's team of green building and professional training professionals has been formed around the opportunity to enhance skills through the exchange of practices, and to raise awareness among players in each other's ecosystems and, more broadly, the general public, in order to anchor sustainable construction in collective representations and contribute to its development. Exchanges of experience and know-how between experts have led to working together on other large-scale projects.

Background

Year after year, the atmosphere heats up and the climate changes. The SUBA project partners all belong to the ecosystem of the building and public works sector, which is responsible for 40% of all greenhouse gas emissions: they are architects, bricklayers, craftswomen, engineers in training, civil engineers, builders, materials manufacturers and training consultants, all convinced that, in the face of the climate emergency, there are simple, local and traditional resilience solutions, but that they need to be shared, the public informed and professionals trained. Thus, the partnership's training centers needed to strengthen the skills of their instructors in the construction sector and enrich their training programs; architects, builders and engineers needed to enrich their construction practices through exchanges; and all needed their networks, customers, professionals and apprentices to understand and accept the need to commit to sustainable construction.
