The partners in the "ApprEUnance" project, based on the objectives of their training programs and on listening to the needs of their learners, had the ambition of reflecting on the foundations of a European learning pedagogical model that would fit in with the current context of uncertainty.
In today's world, yesterday doesn't really tell the story of tomorrow; the only constant is change and unpredictability. Uncertainty has become the norm. In this context, everyone has a responsibility to maintain and develop their skills in a sustainable way, and even more so in a society where digital technology is invading personal and professional environments. This metamorphosis needs to be understood, because whereas training used to be face-to-face and therefore synchronous, with tangible, measurable effects, it is now becoming asynchronous, experiential, digital, immaterial... and non-tangible. These developments call for a rethinking of training, its forms and content. They also call into question each individual's relationship with knowledge, the educational institution and his or her own career path, as well as the way in which it is supported. In short, it's a question of enabling everyone to adopt a learning, agile, proactive posture that incorporates, to use the surfer's metaphor, incessant regulation so that choices are always adapted to the situation. It's against this backdrop of rapid change that we wanted to reflect on vocational training, particularly through sandwich courses.
