We decided to carry out the youth exchange ‘Digital Citizenship Era: Being Young Citizen’ to give young people chance to be aware of the increasing importance of the concept of digital citizenship and how it takes an active part in our societies. It is necessary to become more digitally literate in today’s world. Moreover young people need to be ready to take part in discussions, shape decision-making processes, and use digital technologies in an effective way, especially in the job-seeking process. Youngsters are missing an opportunity to increase their competencies in digital citizenship at schools, universities and also in their daily lives. Last but not least the youth exchange provides a great opportunity to learn from peers and to get other insights on covered issues. The main aim of youth exchange was to make young people digital citizens able to face the challenges of the 21st century. Objectives: • To open discussion on digital citizenship, the concept, the elements; • To share best practices from participating countries; • To discuss the importance of digital citizenship on the life of young people; • To provide the participants with an opportunity to increase competencies linked to digital citizenship including critical thinking, media literacy; • To encourage young people and other stakeholders to work on their digital citizenship competencies by sharing key results of youth exchange (follow up activities, series of short videos, web page with materials); • To increase knowledge on Erasmus+ Programme and to create an inspiring environment for developing new project ideas.
