LifeTime Projects allowed an intercultural exchange with young people from various socio-cultural and economic backgrounds to discover what citizenship is (European, French and Spanish) at various scales. The global objective of the project was to strengthen social ties between European youth, and enable them to acquire essential skills that will contribute to their personal development and empower them to become active members of European society through a youth mobility and exchange programme which promotes solidarity and civic engagement. The specific objectives were: - To provide youth from disadvantaged neighbourhoods, rural areas or from migrant backgrounds with equal mobility and informal learning opportunities as their peers - Develop intercultural awareness amongst participants through an exchange program offering linguistic and cultural immersion between Spain and France. - Promote civic engagement amongst participants through a programme of workshops aiming to raise awareness of social issues, develop skills based on European values of solidarity and cooperation, and therefore empower youth to take action. - Empower youth to become part of movements and projects for the common good either as volunteers and/or as a career choice - Support youth in learning to use digital technology to defend causes for the common good that they believe in - Help towards the promotion of European awareness and common identity among youth
