Objectives

The aim of the youth exchange "New Normality" was to bring together young people from France, Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Estonia and through non-formal activities shaped their lives in an active and positive direction during this difficult time of coronavirus. The objective of the exchange was to discuss current pandemic affairs (media and politics), critical thinking, and youth participation. Young people believe that the only way to combat the post-truth political era is to work on developing the critical and analytical thinking skills within society and by promoting freedom of the press. During the youth exchange, participants explored what does mean to take care of themselves in practice, use special things (masks, antiseptic gel, etc.) organize the safe space, find a job, communicate with different people in public places, learn new digital ways of communication, etc. During the project they exchanged opinions and practices on how to live in our new world, how to spend their free time in a quality active way, and also how to inspire their peers to become more active and live a healthier life. All of the project’s activities and objectives were realized through the joint work of participants, group leaders, partner organizations, and groups based on non-formal education methods. We want to note, that all the main activities and workshops of the project were supplemented by various forms of non-formal education. The world after COVID-19 has changed. We are living now in a completely different reality than before and we need to adapt also our activities towards it, providing everyone linked to this project the needed safety measure, feeling of security, and confidence. We cannot make any more the activities exactly the way we did them before, as the reality is not anymore the same.
