All the stereotypes are born because of the lack of communication and unawareness. The current world is full of conflicts unfortunately. Almost all countries involved in the project are facing different conflict situations; internal conflicts, external conflicts. Young people living in conflict zones, have suffered a lot from the political situations and having barriers and borders which doesn’t allow common people and especially young people to communicate gives space for stereotypes. The possible reason for this is the lack of awareness of the young people about mechanisms and tools of conflict management and negotiation skills in general. The aim of the project was to share the culture of peace among young people, youth leaders/workers by means of giving ground for exchanging peace building and cross-border practices. The objectives of the project were: - To empower and equip young people and youth leaders/workers with skills which helps them for conflict resolution - negotiation, intercultural communication, diversity management and conflict resolution skills on personal, interpersonal and organizational level to contribute to the culture of peace and cooperation. - To break stereotypes through creating channels of communication between the countries of different cultures. - To promote cooperation and partnerships among youth organizations from Programme and Partner countries. Indirectly project also aimed at eliminating the prejudice among the future generation towards people holding different (different does not mean wrong) values and to foster equality and equal opportunities for young people from various background disregarding their social, economical, educational level and stand in the society which is certainly one of the core European values as the participants of the training course being active youth workers and working with young people directly, can and often are role models who can breed such qualities in youth. Through targeting upon youth workers from organization which work with many young people, we aimed at multiplying the effect of our training, and thus making a bigger step towards youth participation locally and on the European level, which in its turn will strengthen efforts of establishing the new democracies in the EECA region and will promote cooperation and exchange of experiences in the East and the West of Europe.
