Objectives

1. JNAE AND EXHIBITION Since its creation in 2007, the JNAE has been an annual regional meeting taking place over a weekend in October. Designed by young people for young people, the event aims to promote and support young people's voice and commitment. It is a space for exchange and debate on current issues, encouraging a better understanding of societal challenges, through methodological contributions and resources, and meetings between young people and elected officials, experts and associations. In 2021, the event took place in Sauméjan (47) on 22, 23 and 24 October on the theme: "Our society in 10 years... and our freedoms? The event was attended by 78 people. The steering committee (copil) for the action was made up of young volunteers from the Neo-Aquitaine region (departments 47, 87, 40, 64), accompanied by education/youth professionals from the departmental federations (17, 19, 24, 33, 40, 47, 64, 86, 87) and the regional union. The program of the JNAE, elaborated by the young people of the steering committee, consisted of 3 days punctuated by animations, methodological and pedagogical contributions, workshops of reflection, meetings and exchanges with public actors, workshops of artistic creation. The young volunteer members were involved on a voluntary basis, in line with their desire to work on an event that reflected their image and their commitment to citizenship. These young people were students, employees, jobseekers, civic service volunteers, those with no specific training or those who had graduated from a higher education establishment. The participation of 22 elected officials, experts and invited associative actors (departments47,64,33,86) was a key factor in giving weight to the words of the 40 young participants (17,24,33,40,64,86,87 including 5 foreigners living in France). In addition to the fact that the young people had a space to be heard, the exchanges and proposals resulting from their meeting were precious because they were taken up and relayed by the public actors present. 3 participants from the League (1 elected representative and 1 youth delegate from FD47, the director of LENA) were present at the event. 15 people from the steering committee (employees and young people) were present. The work carried out during the JNAE was put into practice by the creation of an exhibition presented from 7 to 30 March 2022, within the regional union, in Poitiers. Entirely designed by 5 young former participants (departments40, 64,24,17,87), it included a highlight led by 3 young people (2 were unavailable) including mediation around the exhibition, a time of meeting and exchange with visitors. 66 people attended. This exhibition was also accessible in a virtual way and will be itinerant since it will be presented during the national congress of the Ligue de l'Enseignement in Metz June2022. 2. OBJECTIVES The objectives were: to encourage young people to reflect and debate on social issues, in order to develop a constructive dialogue; to strengthen and enhance the commitment and consultation of young people; to promote meetings and exchanges between young people and elected representatives, experts, associations; to bring out ideas and proposals that can impact on public policy actors; to offer young people a better understanding of European issues and problems; to guarantee the participation of all and the equality of all genders; to offer a space for inclusive debate; to develop the interpersonal and professional skills of young people 3. YOUTH WORK PRACTICE PERSPECTIVE The JNAE and the design of the exhibition promoted the personal development, social integration and active citizenship of young people. It was a social, cultural, educational and political event with, for and by young people. It was a time of informal learning about one's environment (societal, personal, professional) using participatory methods, exploiting the diversity and richness of opinions as a learning tool. It was an opportunity to respond to the needs and aspirations of young people. The animations and workshops facilitated learning processes, improved reflective quality, contributed to the knowledge of young people's opinions in Europe. They were based on the voluntary participation of young people who wanted to contribute to the development of a viable and sustainable society. Access to the actions was based on intentional volunteering involving the transmission and practice of values and access to democratic life. The themes and contents of the actions led to participation, reflection, sharing, exchange and debate, in order to promote interpersonal skills and active citizenship. The aim was to immerse young people in a social, committed and supportive environment.
