Engagé·e·s & Déterminé·e·s, the national network of youth and student associations for international solidarity, has developed the project "[ECSI] On Inventait la SI de Demain" for and with its network’s young members. Gender issues, ecological issues and the role of young people in decision-making are becoming increasingly important in today's society, and the international solidarity sector is no exception. What's more, in the wake of the severe impact of the health crisis on the international solidarity sector (making it extremely difficult, if not impossible, for people to travel abroad) and the increasingly dramatic consequences of climate change (natural disasters, climate displacement), the sector needs to rethink some of its practices to better respond to contemporary issues. Young people, who are tomorrow's players in International Solidarity, need to make their voices heard on how the sector should address these issues. The "[ECSI] On Invente la SI de demain" project is part of this reflection and bears witness to the transformation of the sector. Spearheaded by and with the young people involved in the E&D network, the project has several goals: - Build a voice for committed young people on contemporary IS issues (gender, environment, risks, youth and ECSI - education for citizenship and international solidarity). - Enable young people to gain a better understanding of the sector by meeting with professionals, and to act as stakeholders in this environment. - Carry and disseminate this critical voice at different levels, so that these IS issues are better taken into account (gender, environment, risks, youth and ECSI - education for citizenship and international solidarity). - Remove obstacles to young people's commitment to international solidarity by involving them in a large-scale project
