In order to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the 1901 law relating to the right of association in France, but also the 2022 presidential and legislative elections, RNJA carried out an advocacy project on the right of association and participation of minors. On the one hand, the “Déliber'Action: when young people take action” project aimed to implement a structured dialogue with young people involved on the territory to lead to the drafting of a White Paper of Junior Associations. On the other hand, it aimed to formalize the training of young people about the issues of associative advocacy as part of the creation of the JA Ambassador program. This project was an opportunity for committed young people to address the issues they encounter on a daily basis and, more broadly, to make known and recognize the levers and obstacles to their commitment. It also aimed to support the awareness of young people in Junior Association of their commitment and their territorial impact, all within a national network of committed young people, but also of actors following the JA approach. Placing the voice of young people at the heart of the creation of this project, one of the challenges laid in the creation of a space for collective intelligence and exchange between political decision makers and young people, with the aim of voicing the wishes or questions that arise from both adults and minors. This better understanding of the commitment of young people seeks to subsequently enable decision makers to reconsider their youth policies so that the right to participation of minors and the recognition of their commitment are facilitated for all young people. To enable action on this advocacy, the JA Ambassadors program enabled 17 young people to take concrete action on their territory, making them actors in the changes that concern them.
