6. By implementing the project, we have achieved three goals. Introducing new learning methods with an emphasis on teaching in nature. Raising environmental awareness and education for sustainable development. Use of ICT and improvement of digital skills. The first goal is focused on the application of innovative methods in working with students and on taking students out of classrooms, which stimulates their interests and enables easier acquisition of teaching contents. The second goal emphasizes the education of students as environmentally conscious citizens who will contribute to their local community, and thus contribute to solving global environmental problems. The third objective is based on the fact that both teachers and students use ICT to a greater or lesser extent. We tried to improve these skills and encourage the use of digital tools that will make the teaching and learning process easier for all. By interweaving all three goals, we have encouraged the creation of a modernized school that is open to changes and recognizable in wider educational circles; positive working atmosphere with satisfied and successful employees and students; better preparation of students for future education.
Our organization is a primary school in a rural area. Classes are attended by 136 students between the ages of 7 and 15, and are conducted by 6 classroom teachers, 21 subject teachers and 3 professional associates. We have 14 classes in which the number of students ranges from 3 to 16. There are two combined classes with two classes each (1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th). Students are involved in various projects and extracurricular activities, and in competitions in knowledge and skills they achieve notable results up to the state level. From 2016 to 2018, we have participated in the Erasmus+ KA2 project, which had an emphasis on eco-outcomes. Our goal was to find and apply new ways of raising environmentally conscious citizens. Since it is a permanently current topic, we have been carrying out various eco-activities in the meantime. We have designed this project in order to continue applying the experiences gained earlier. ICT has been used in teaching for many years, but sporadically and with a smaller number of employees, so we have included objectives from this area in our project. The rural location of the school also determined the context of the project, so we have tried to move as many activities as possible into nature.
