By defining priority areas, improving work with students with disabilities, we have created a tree of problems and goals. In doing so, we have reached the general goal of our project: a quality school that respects and cherishes diversity. In order to contribute to the achievement of our general goal, we have defined five specific objectives: 1.By educating in the field of informal and innovative methods of working with students with disabilities, strengthen the competences of teachers for systematic and quality work with them in order to raise the quality of school work. 2. Learn how to provide timely psychosocial support to students with disabilities, develop students' social skills and collaborative relationships with their parents. 3. Learn new techniques on how to deal with possible undesirable behaviors that may be present in students with disabilities and how to replace undesirable behaviors with socially acceptable behaviors. 4. Presentation of examples of good practice to teachers in the collective and in other schools in order to raise awareness and knowledge about children with disabilities 5. Introduce members of the local community to the problems of students with disabilities
Our organization is Fran Galovic Elementary School. Fran Galovic Elementary School is attended by 696 students aged 6.5 to 14, divided into 32 class departments. Of the total number of students, a significant percentage (7%) are students with disabilities. In the last few years, we have noticed an increase in the number of students with disabilities who are in regular class rooms without enough trained teachers to work with them and we have decided to train for quality work with them and their parents in order to meet the high criteria in our educational work.
