The school wanted to internationalize through various projects. Internationalization would give us more visibility and new, potential partners for strategic partnerships, which we aspire to. Since students in agricultural and mechanical professions get through regular classes only theoretical knowledge about starting their own company, on getting grants from different EU funds, and on the writing a good business plan, with this project we wanted our students to learn all these things. We also wanted them to learn it while doing their internsip in Portuguese family firms. These transversal skills are also very important and will help them if they decide to start their own business and to become more competitive in the labour market.
High School Donji Miholjac educates students in the field of vocational and general program. In vocational education, the School implements programs in the sector of agriculture, economics and trade. The school wants to attract more students in the agriculture and mechanical engineering sector which, due to reduced capacity for internship placements, enrolls every second year, although the needs of the labour market are bigger than that. With this project, the School wanted to enable the development of existing, and the acquisition of new transversal skills, key competencies, and skills specific to the profession of agrotechnicians, CNC operators and mechanical computer technicians. It also wanted to enable participants to develop entrepreneurial skills as well as resilience to change in a very challenging labour market.
