Objectives

By implementing the project, we improve student mobility and strengthen the European dimensions of teaching and learning. By participating in this project, the students developed the skills necessary for future work. The professional practice they participated in in Ireland enabled them to acquire new knowledge and gain experience working in a system that is different from the one in which they are studying. They got acquainted with new technologies and equipment. By staying in another country, they developed their communication skills and resourcefulness, and are better prepared for future challenges. They further improved their knowledge of the English language by communicating with colleagues on internships (jobs) and by staying in Ireland, through free activities. By participating in the mobility project, they got to know other cultures and thereby expanded their general knowledge and experience of life in Ireland, which will be an additional commendable item in their future CV. The project contributes realization of school values: tolerance, humanity, solidarity, responsibility, excellence, equality, entrepreneurship, sacrifice and good communication.

Background

The Eramus+ project "Putujući Europom do novih vještina" of the Bartol Kašić Grubišno Polje High School aims to improve and maintain the standards and quality of knowledge, competences and skills of students majoring in Computer Technician. With this project, students will apply and upgrade the acquired knowledge from professional subjects and the English language during professional practice. The purpose of the project is that students can critically reflect on the differentiation of the curriculum and principles of work in Ireland and Croatia. Through the experience of participating in the project, students will develop communication skills, empathy, solidarity, social responsibility, and multiculturalism as fundamental values of the EU. They will learn about different practices and work trends, and have the opportunity to work with new technologies. They will have the opportunity to see a different teaching methodology, and the possibilities of the labor market in EU countries. By including students and teachers of mobility participants in professional orientation activities in elementary schools, we expect an increased number of students enrolled in deficit occupations of four-year courses.
