As planned by the project application, the students of our school performed a professional practice with which they gained new work experience in the companies of the Italian province of Calabria. The students performed practice in private companies that cooperate with each other. During the work, the students acquired knowledge about the functioning of the company in the field of entrepreneurship and tourism, which is in accordance with their educational programs. They learned how to develop a business idea and what is needed for its realization. The students learned how to manage the organization, edited the website, developed language competences using English and Italian. Through practice, the students acquired knowledge and skills in the field of promotion and digital marketing. They worked on hotel room booking jobs, corresponded with guests and business partners, kept guest records and reported the guests' whereabouts to the police station. During practice, they worked on including contracts, conducted correspondence, communicated with the parties.
With the project "New Knowledge – New Opportunities", we wanted to provide an opportunity for quality and professional training of our students through the performance of professional practice in organizations outside the Republic of Croatia. Students who are educated in the Economist programme were able to acquire new knowledge and skills through the practice they performed during mobility at company Sud Grafica. Since their education program conducts practice through the subject called Trainee company, this was an opportunity for them to perform work related to their profession in a real company and after their return apply the acquired knowledge and skills and transfer them to other students. The mobility of students who are educated as a Hotel and Tourism Technician is many times useful since there are only few tourist facilities in Karlovac where students can practice. In addition, all students learn Italian that they could then use during mobility in Italy. This mobility has contributed to a better image of the school and opened up opportunities for new projects.
