Objectives

The University of Rijeka is a modern European university, centre of excellence, research and education-oriented university that supports social and economic development in our community. Until today 2200 students and 800 staff members participated in Erasmus. UNIRI hosted 2600 incoming Erasmus students and 900 staff members. The University signed 740 Erasmus agreements with partner universities. UNIRI has embodied its aspiration towards internationalisation into its Strategic Plans, emphasising the strategic goals: to enrol more international students, offer more study programmes in foreign languages, increase the mobility of academic staff, broaden the cooperation with international institutions, encourage international activities. The Strategy states that access to education, ensuring equal opportunities for all, caring for vulnerable and underrepresented groups, promoting diversity, and every person’s inclusion and dignity are fundamental principles that, alongside academic integrity and public accountability, enhance research and education’s quality and contribute to justice in society. Participation in Erasmus program and implementation of this project strongly contributes to the achievement of all mentioned strategic goals.
