Objectives

By implementing this project, we wanted to provide Youth Workers with the possibility of additional education and strengthen their capacities and thus of youth organizations, with the aim of raising the quality of their Youth Work. Through the mobility of Youth Workers, we have enabled the transfer of knowledge that will help them in their further Youth Work, working with youngsters who are members or users of their organizations, but also the improvement of existing and the development of new approaches in Youth Work that are based on real and current problems and needs of young people. In most countries of the European Union, including Croatia, there is no systematic education and training for Youth Workers. Given that Youth Workers do not have all the competencies and skills needed to work with young people developed, it is necessary to continuously create and share new methods and tools so that they can be educated for Youth Work through informal education. It is necessary to recognize the way to approach young people and help them acquire knowledge and skills for active participation, both in society and in the local community. One of the problems that youth organizations face today is that in Youth Work, there are often departures and arrivals of different Youth Workers. Accordingly, one of the goals is to motivate and educate Youth Workers through the Erasmus+ program and the mobility of Youth Workers, as well as youth exchanges, so that Youth Workers can strengthen their knowledge and skills, as well as the motivation to help young people. The objectives of our project refer to the training of Youth Workers and education of young people in the area of selected priorities such as active political and social participation, democratic processes, and decision-making processes; the ability to develop and apply new methods and tools, and getting to know the critical thinking. Through the training of Youth Workers and education of young people in selected priority areas, we want to further train Youth Workers so that with the acquired knowledge they are able to implement activities for young people in the local community. This goal has a direct impact on informing young people and on strengthening the capacity of Youth Workers who, due to the lack of systematic education, do not have access to the new knowledge and tools that they need for every day Youth Work. When it comes to the ability to develop and apply new methods and tools, the emphasis is not only on learning new methods and tools for acquiring knowledge and skills but also on raising the competencies of Youth Workers, to develop and share their own methods and tools. The goal is to encourage Youth Workers to lifelong learning and a different approach to their own professional development. One of the main goals of the project is to get acquainted with critical thinking in order to introduce Youth Workers, but also young people to existing scientific databases that can help them in their work and development. In relation to critical thinking, it is also important to educate oneself in the techniques of critical thinking and fact-checking/verifying sources in order to make sure that they have accurate and verified information at their disposal at all time.
